Seed Saving Classes

 

Anyone can learn how to save their heirloom seeds!

 

For our classes, the suggested donation per student is $1.00-2.00 to cover materials. On site classes at your location are available Monday-Friday 10:00-2:00 with 30 day advanced notice.

 

Preschool– Kindergarten: Introduction to a seed, different types of seeds, its needs, pollination, fruit production and seed harvest.  Students will plant a pot of seeds to grow at home.  Class time can be scheduled from 30-60 minutes.

 

Grade School–Age specific presentation of seed saving concepts and planting activity. Preferred class time is minimum 45 minutes in length but can extend to 60 minutes as requested.

 

Middle School– Class presentation covers the same topics as Grade School, but is more in-depth.  Preferred class time is minimum 45 minutes in length but can extend to 60 minutes as requested.

 

High School–Class presentation is same as Middle School with further exploration of seed saving techniques.  Preferred class time minimum 60 minutes and can extend to 90 minutes.

 

Adult– The class covers more levels of seed saving in greater detail.  The classes can be scheduled for minimum 45 minutes to 2 hours.  If the 2 hour time is scheduled the Seed Library can be brought on-site to allow participants to choose several packets of seed. We don’t plant a pot for this presentation.  Numerous printed materials are available to take home.
